Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy sets out the manner in which sport-flash.com, acting in its capacity as data controller, collects, processes and uses the personal data that you communicate to it in your capacity as a User of the electronic Platform https://www.sport-flash.com (hereinafter, the "Platform").
The User of the Platform is invited to read this Privacy Policy before communicating their personal data. By using the Platform, the User accepts the collection and use of their personal data in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.
Data Controller
The data controller is BroadcastCentral (sport-flash.com), published by BroadcastCentral.
sport-flash.com is free to choose any natural or legal person who processes Users' personal data at its request and on its behalf (hereinafter a "processor"), in particular to enable the provision of services requested by a User. sport-flash.com undertakes to select processors offering sufficient guarantees regarding the technical and organizational security measures for processing personal data. sport-flash.com ensures that appropriate contractual provisions guarantee that its processors will only use personal data for the purpose specified by it and in accordance with the objectives defined in this Privacy Policy.
sport-flash.com – and/or its processors acting in its name and on its behalf – determines the purposes, technical and legal means of processing personal data and undertakes to take all necessary organizational measures to guarantee safe processing in compliance with applicable regulations, in particular Law No. 78-17 on information technology, files and freedoms of January 6, 1978 in its current version and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016, known as "GDPR", relating to the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data.
Processing of Personal Data
The use of the Platform as well as any request for information or services from the User involves the communication of personal data on their part.
The processing of this personal data is carried out mainly in an automated manner and pursues the purposes referred to in point 5 below.
sport-flash.com takes adequate measures to ensure that the User's personal data is processed lawfully, securely and confidentially, and to avoid the loss, misuse, alteration or deletion of this personal data.
Personal Data Likely to be Collected and Processed
If the User creates an account (by following a team, a competition or a venue, or by signing in): their email address, the language, country and time zone they chose, what they follow, their email settings, the date of their consent and the version of the text accepted, their signed-in devices (browser and system type, country inferred by our host, never the IP address) and a security log (sign-ins, settings changes). If they choose "Continue with Google", Google sends us their account identifier and email address, nothing else.
For each email sent, we keep its kind (code, Thursday letter, match-day reminder), its date and what happened to it at our email provider (delivered, bounced, reported as spam). For emails the User asked for, we only keep the date they last opened one, to space out then stop sending if they no longer read them (exemption provided by the French data protection authority, CNIL, recommendation of 14 April 2026). Opens and clicks are only counted in aggregate, with no link to a person. On the site, technical connection data (pages viewed, date and time, device type) is processed by our audience measurement and advertising tools according to the consent given in the cookie banner.
Cookies
To better meet the needs of Users and provide them with the services and information they request, the Platform uses cookies relating to the User's connection and navigation on the Platform. The purpose of the cookie is to signal your visit to the Platform.
With the User's consent, collected through the cookie banner, the Platform uses audience measurement cookies (Google Analytics 4) and advertising cookies (Ezoic and its partners), which fund the site. The account cookies ("__Host-sf_w" on the site, "__Host-sf_a" on the account space) are strictly necessary: they keep signed in the User who asked for it and serve no other purpose.
The User can program their browser to know when a cookie is going to activate. This allows the User to reject the use of the cookie or ask the browser to delete the cookie at the end of their visit to the Platform. The Platform cannot be used if cookies are refused by the User's browser.
In accordance with applicable regulations, before depositing or reading a cookie on a User's computer, sport-flash.com:
- informs the User of the purpose of cookies;
- collects their consent when required;
- indicates to Users the means to refuse cookies.
The User may also object to the use of cookies at any time by emailing: [email protected].
Purposes of Personal Data Processing
Users' personal data is reserved for the exclusive use of sport-flash.com and cannot be communicated to third parties, except sport-flash.com's processors.
Users' personal data is processed to: manage their account and their password-less sign-in (a code or link sent by email, or Google); send them the emails they asked for (the Thursday letter and the match-day reminder for what they follow), with an unsubscribe link in every email; protect the service against abuse (request limits, Cloudflare Turnstile anti-bot check); measure audience and show advertising on the site, according to the consent given.
The account is managed on account.sport-flash.com: there the User edits what they follow and their emails, downloads their data and deletes their account. Deletion immediately erases the address, the Google identifier, the settings, the sessions and the security log. What they followed stays in our statistics with no way back to the person, and an encrypted fingerprint of the address is kept for three years to recognise a new sign-up; it cannot be used to write to the User. Our processors for this are Amazon Web Services (email sending, hosting, European Union), Google (Google sign-in, audience measurement) and Cloudflare (network and anti-bot check).
User Rights and Terms of Exercise
The User benefits, within the limits provided for by the regulations in force, from a right of access, rectification or erasure of their personal data, a right to limit the processing of their data as well as a right to portability and a right to object to the processing of their personal data.
The User also has the right to withdraw their consent to the processing of their personal data at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing already carried out, based on consent given before this withdrawal.
The User exercises most of these rights themselves from their account space (account.sport-flash.com): downloading their data, editing it, deleting the account. For any other request or question about their personal data, they can write to [email protected].
In the event that you believe that your rights are not respected, you have the right, independently of any recourse in the context of an administrative or judicial procedure, to lodge a complaint with the competent authority, the National Commission for Information Technology and Liberties (CNIL).
Personal Data Retention Period
Account: as long as it exists; an account that follows nothing and has not signed in for 30 days is deleted. Sessions: 90 days on the site, 14 days on the account space. Sign-in codes: 24 hours after they expire. Security log and history of emails sent: 13 months. Addresses that bounced our emails or reported them as spam: as an encrypted fingerprint, without limit, so we never write to them again. Fingerprint of a deleted account's address: 3 years. Sending statistics: without limit, as they are anonymous.
Limitation of Liability of the Data Controller
sport-flash.com cannot be held responsible for the loss, corruption of data or identity theft, which may be caused in particular, but not limited to, by the presence of viruses or computer attacks.
Modification of the Privacy Policy
sport-flash.com reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time in order to comply with applicable regulations or in order to adapt it to its practices and their evolution. Consequently, the User is invited to consult it regularly in order to become aware of any modifications and adaptations.
